Oklahoma City resident Duke Ligon is an attorney who has experience in energy policy and investment banking. Currently the owner of Mekusukey Oil Company, Duke Ligon is involved in numerous charities, including the Oklahoma City Philharmonic (OKCPHIL) Foundation, where he serves on the board of directors.
Founded in 1988, the OKCPHIL is a musical orchestra that performs classical music, orchestral pops, and family concerts. The organization has a vision to enrich the lives of individuals in the community and display the value of music. In addition to performing, the OKCPHIL participates in community engagements and maintains several adult programs. Adult programs at the OKCPHIL include the Be the Orchestra program, which allows adults the opportunity to learn the violin, viola, cello and bass instruments. Prior to each Classic Series concert, the OKCPHIL holds concert previews that include question-and-answer sessions and networking opportunities with leading musicians, concert masters, and other professionals. Lastly, university music majors can participate in classes with guess artists, which are free and open to the public.
